  • The official motto of Pembroke Pines is "Join Us-Progress With Us".
  • On January 16, 1960, Pembroke Pines was officially incorporated.
  • The City was named "Pembroke Pines" in 1874 by Sir Edward Reed, who was a Member of Britain's Parliament for the County of Pembroke.
  • American Indians are said to be the first inhabitants of Pembroke Pines. They settled in the city 4,000 years ago.
